Thinking Out Loud

Annals of Insurrection

A poem

Ismail Elshareef

--

I’m trying to namaste, but rage ignites my soul today,
We need to make these fuckers pay for the mess they made today.
It starts with that orange wretch who skulks to die another day,
And ends with mobs of scum who peddle lies, hate, and decay.

You’re not entitled to your “truths,” those twisted tales of disarray,
You followed Don, the rabbit king, and led this land to your betray.
There are laws and there is order — this is the creed you must obey:
Return to shadows, end this madness; you know you’ve wandered far astray.

Or else the fire of justice roars, from ash to ash, Calais reborn,
And America shall rise anew from broken oaths and honor torn.
